Men's Bowling
History
The Retired Men's Club Candlepin Bowling League was formed in 1965 at the Orleans Bowling Center. In 1981, it moved to Ryan Family Amusements in South Yarmouth. Warren Brimblecom served as chairman from 1989-2012. Jack Puleo succeeded Warren until 2023 and did an admirable job. Dick Donovan in succeeding Jack starting with the 2023/2024 season. Today, the league has forty eight slots and continues to roll along.
Today
Bowling starts the day after Labor Day and runs every Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. through mid May at Ryan's in South Yarmouth. The league is composed of eight teams of six bowlers on each team. Teams bowl three strings at a cost of $17. per week. Many bowlers have their own bowling balls and shoes, but it is not a requirement. Any member can join the league, regardless of experience. The emphasis in on having fun and socializing. Join us … you'll have a ball!
